1. About Our Common Roots
Our Common Roots is a neighbor-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Riverside district through youth mentoring, adult outreach, food and resources, and community events. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our website and your registration to receive communications from us.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to register through this website and to consent to receive communications from us. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate and belongs to you.
3. Registration & your information
When you register, you agree to provide true, current, and complete information, including your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. You agree to provide only your own contact information and not to register on behalf of anyone else without their permission. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
4. Communications & consent
By checking the consent box on the registration form, you give your express written consent for Our Common Roots to contact you at the email address and phone number you provided — including marketing emails, phone calls, and text messages that may be sent using automated technology and/or prerecorded messages — about its programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.
Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us at any time to stop receiving communications.
We use a double opt-in process: after you register, we will email you a verification link, and your registration is completed only once you confirm it.
5. Acceptable use
When using our website or communicating with us, you agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or someone else's information without authorization.
- Use the site or our communications for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our website or systems.
- Copy, scrape, or misuse our content except as permitted by these Terms.
6. Our content
The text, graphics, logos, illustrations, and other content on this website are owned by Our Common Roots or used with permission, and are protected by applicable laws. You may view and share our content for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not reproduce, distribute, or use it commercially without our prior written consent.
7. Disclaimer
Our website and communications are provided "as is" and "as available." While we work to keep our information accurate and our programs running smoothly, we make no warranties that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current. Program details, events, and availability may change.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Our Common Roots and its staff, volunteers, and board members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or from communications you receive after registering. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or our communications after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
